President Biden is coming under fire for hosting a barbecue at the White House Sunday afternoon while war rages in Israel and terrorists allegedly hold Americans hostage. His office, and most of the executive were very, very slow to condemn the barbarous attacks on Israel.
Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley was one of those to condemn Biden for holding the event for White House staff and their families on Sunday, which including a live band, one day after Hamas launched it surprise incursion in what became the deadliest day of fighting in the Israel-Palestine conflict for decades.
“While Hamas holds Americans hostage, Joe Biden is enjoying a picnic with a live band,” he tweeted.
Then on Monday, Biden called a lid for the day – meaning he won’t have any media availability – amid the ongoing crisis in Israel.

The announcement came just before noon and signaled to the media that the president will make no more public appearances for the day. Commenters on social media expressed outrage at the decision, citing a lack of urgency about the war in Israel on President Biden’s behalf.
