New York Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer’s aide Angelo Roefaro just tweeted a gloating comment on the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package that the U.S. Senate passed at the weekend. In one fell swoop it allocates enough funds to ensure that the state of New York’s projected budget deficit will be erased course of the New York Senator’s power as Leader of the Senate.
Ok. Thanks to @SenSchumer NYS budget deficit for this year is…..— Angelo Roefaro (@AngeloRoefaro) March 8, 2021
Zero, nada, niete, zilch (NY terms)
So, the heartland will be paying for Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s terrible policies on nursing homes – AND HE’S STILL MULLING TAX INCREASES FOR NY! New York state’s tax burden was the highest in the country, at 12.28% last June, and with the tidal wave of escapees to low tax states during COVID, the Governor is looking to find more from the poor bastards who couldn’t get out.
E.J. McMahon of the Empire Center for Public Policy said bluntly to the New York Post, “There’s no need for a tax increase,” arguing that the federal stimulus could obviate the need for additional taxes for two years.
